This week marks the first week that I've actually FELT pregnant. I still feel good, mind you, but you can't miss the waddle that I've got going on or the constant hand on the back or the slightly swollen ankles. And night time is becoming increasingly NOT FUN. I guess that's getting me prepared for not sleeping at all when the baby comes, right?
I go to the doctor for a checkup tomorrow. It's actually been right at 3 weeks since my last checkup, which makes me a bit nervous. I've had a few "too high" numbers when checking my blood sugar and today I took my blood pressure at CVS and it seemed high to me (like I'm trained in that area or something). So I'll feel better when I'm being checked out.
The nursery is all done, the clothes are washed (at least the ones I'm going to wash at this point), the thank you notes have been sent out. We still need to put the car seat in the car (not a task I'm particularly looking forward to after hearing the horror stories about that) and I need to pack my hospital bag. But we're in good shape, if you ask me. We've definitely accomplished a lot in the past two weeks.
Thanksgiving was great...we celebrated at mom's on Thursday (I wasn't much help this year...I'm so lazy), then James' parents on Friday, then Ronnie's family on Friday evening (first time celebrating with them since 2003, so that was cool). I was even Martha Stewart-ish and turned the leftover turkey that I had into white turkey chili...aren't I the domestic diva?
Hopefully all is well with everyone out there in blog land...

Amazed
Today James and I had our baby shower at church...we are simply amazed at God's goodness. We were blessed with the love and generosity of so many people. I can't think of one thing that we're going to need to buy before Kendall arrives (unless you can put sleep on lay-away). Have you ever just been at a complete loss for words? Doesn't happen to me too often, but I'm experiencing that now when I think of how to describe the gratitude and love that I feel for my family, friends, and Bethesda church family. Thank you seems inadequate, but it's all I can think of to offer - so THANK YOU to everyone that had a part in today.
We were also extremely blessed last weekend with our Sunday School baby shower. We had an awesome time of eating, laughing and an always fun round (or three) of baby bingo. We truly appreciate everyone that joined us for that.
I feel like I'm about to burst with love and excitement...it's a good feeling, I must admit.
Hope everyone has an incredible week!
